To ensure a productive and engaging experience for everyone, here are some ground rules.

  1. Meeting cadence: Once every other week.
  2. Reading Pace: Our goal is to read around 20-40 pages per week (and maybe more or less, depending on the complexity of the book). This might be one chapter, it might be several chapters, or whatever the page count equivalent is. Assigned reading will be posted the prior week. Please aim to complete the assigned reading before each meeting.
  3. Active Participation: Come prepared to share your thoughts, insights, and questions about the assigned reading. We encourage everyone to contribute to the discussion.
  4. Personal Application: Think about how the concepts and ideas in the book apply to your own experiences, work, or personal life.
  5. Respectful Dialogue: We value diverse perspectives. Please listen actively to others, allow everyone a chance to speak, and engage in constructive and respectful dialogue, even if you disagree.
  6. Open-mindedness: Be open to new ideas and different interpretations of the material. We thrive on multiple ideas, not just groupthink.
  7. Confidentiality: What is shared within our book club, especially personal reflections and experiences, should remain within the group. If you share outside of the group, please avoid naming names or companies. At the same time, please don’t reveal more than you’re comfortable sharing.
  8. Come Prepared: It's helpful to jot down notes, highlight interesting passages, or formulate questions as you read. This will aid in a stronger discussion.
  9. Beyond the Book: Feel free to share related resources, articles, or experiences that tie into the themes of the book.
  10. Have fun. This is a book club with awesome people.
